Romantic Mysticism: The Music of Billy Goldenberg (2022)

This feature-length documentary from Gary Gerani (creator and co-author of Pumpkinhead) explores the life and musical creations of Billy Goldenberg, a celebrated, multi-award winning composer and arranger best known for his innovative work in television, the movies, and on Broadway.

 

Tiedeman is the Titles/Graphics Manager on Romantic Mysticism: The Music of Billy Goldenberg and also edited the official trailer which you can see here. The full-length doc is available from Kino Lorber as a Blu-ray extra on The UFO Incident starring James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons. DVD Talk describes Romantic Mysticism as "an invaluable document" and Geek Vibes Nation says, "This may be even more enjoyable than the main feature." The film was awarded Best Documentary Feature by the 2023 Cannes World Film Festival and has been nominated for a 21st Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award.

Billy Goldenberg

Emmy-winning composer Billy Goldenberg may be best known for his work on TV's Kojak, Night Gallery, Columbo and Duel (An action-thriller directed by Steven Spielberg). The cast of Romantic Mysticism includes Estelle Parsons, John Badham, David Shire, Robert Wagner, Alan Bergman, & Lalo Schifrin.

The babes are back and so is everyone's favorite wish-grantin', murder-lovin' mischievous gremlin, the Imp! Directed by Brinke Stevens and starring Kelli Maroney (Night of the Comet) and Michelle Bauer. Sean is the associate producer of this sequel to the 1988 horror comedy. Now streaming on Full Moon Features, Tubi (censored version), and Amazon Prime. The Blu-ray/DVD was just released April 11th, 2023. It's a MUST-SEE for B movie fans! Sean saw the original film on TV in 1991 (USA Up All Night) and the experience cemented his love for the creativity and magic that low-budget movies can offer. Sean Tiedeman filmed two interview segments, one in Bangor, Maine, with legendary author Stephen King and the other in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania with filmmaker George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead, Creepshow).

Both interviews were included in the Bravo Network TV Special, The 100 Scariest Movie Moments. The program, produced by Tony Timpone and Kaufman Films, is a five-show series which became the network's highest rated original series of 2004. Bloody Disgusting published a new retrospective article titled 10 Reasons We Still Love Bravo’s 100 Scariest Movie Moments Almost 20 Years Later. Stephen King makes the list at #4 and George A. Sean Tiedeman successfully raised over $47,000 on Kickstarter for his first full-length feature documentary The King of Arcades. Co-produced by Adam F. Goldberg, creator of The Goldbergs on ABC, the nostalgic film has met with great success. The King of Arcades premiered to a sold out crowd at The Sands Casino Resort (Frank Banko Alehouse) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and had a limited theatrical run across the country. In this heartwarming film from director Matthew Miele, writer/producer Chris Fetchko, and Warner Bros. Home Video, homelessness is shown in a different light and illustrated with memorable performances from Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Debbie Allen, Robin Givens, Lou Rawls, and Phyllis Diller.

Tiedeman was an Associate Producer of Everything's Jake and re-edited the official trailer, prepared the end title crawl, co-authored the DVD for Warner Bros. and Lightyear Entertainment, contributed to the DVD artwork, and edited a music video featuring musician Bret Alexander to help promote the motion picture.

30 Years of Garbage: The Garbage Pail Kids Story (2017)

In the 1980’s a bunch of underground cartoonists parodied a popular doll (whose name can’t be spoken). The resulting commercial trading cards/stickers tapped into an international zeitgeist that was brewing in a young generation who felt that this product spoke to the revulsion they had for the corporate pop culture that was being fed to them. Learn the truth behind the myth of The Garbage Pail Kids.

Sean traveled with the crew to Texas, Oregon, NYC, the Sony Lot in Los Angeles, California and beyond working as camera operator and Director of Photography. Tiedeman's wife, Krystle-Dawn, served as a producer. Check out the Indiegogo campaign trailer filmed & edited by Sean Tiedeman. This video helped the creative team raise over $41,000 on Indiegogo! Sean Tiedeman worked on set in various positions including documentarian, production assistant and appeared on-screen as the popcorn clerk & the Look-Out! clown. An Aegis award-winning TV special, Renew and Rewind was a live concert event featuring The Badlees which aired on the WB, Service Electric Cable TV, and FOX affiliated networks. Filmed at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Manhattan Center in New York City, Sean Tiedeman worked at [K] Studios as an editor on the project, filming and editing several segments including the show’s opening. The Stage is a Telly Award winning music television program. The show aired successfully for ten years on Service Electric Cable and Blue Ridge Cable - hitting over 1.5 million homes weekly. The CVC Report called The Stage, “…one of the best produced regional shows...” The show has has hosted several notable special guests for exclusive interviews including Daryl Hall and John Oates, Godsmack, 3 Doors Down, The Bacon Bros., Vanilla Ice, Adam Duritz, Breaking Benjamin, Lisa Loeb, Seether, The Flaming Lips, and Weird Al Yankovic.

The Stage, formally Pop TV, was changed to incorporate a wider variety of musical styles. Special guests on Pop TV included Vanessa Carlton, Nine Days, Vertical Horizon, The Baha Men, Vitamin C, and Hanson.

Man vs. Snake tells the story of Tim McVey who in 1984, on a single quarter (and over forty-four hours of non-stop play) was the first person in history to score over one billion points on the arcade game Nibbler.

Now middle-aged and out of shape, Tim discovers that reclaiming the Nibbler title will not be easy. Packed with unexpected twists and turns, the film proves a powerful tale of the triumph of the human spirit.

Tiedeman created the menus for the Blu-ray and DVD and was credited as Director of Photography on Rick Carter & Richie Knucklez, a bonus featurette included on the discs. Sean was also credited for providing and filming additional footage that was used in the movie.

Sean edited a video tribute which was included in his award presentation. Throughout Angus's magnificent career, Sean chopped several highlight reels for the actor. Although Mr. Scrimm is often frightening in his film and TV roles, he was always such a wonderfully warm, kind, and inspiring person in real life. “Booooyyy!”

 

Sean also edited Lifetime Achievement Presentations for Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Escape from NY), Tony Todd (Candyman), Sean Cunningham (Director of Friday the 13th), and Tom Atkins (Halloween III) - Michael J. Hein Award.

Stevan Mena's prequel to Malevolence, Bereavement, was released in theaters across the USA. The film tells the horrific account of 6 year old Martin Bristol, abducted from his backyard swing and forced to witness the brutal crimes of a deranged madman.

 

Sean directed, filmed, and edited the 35 minute featurette, The Making of Bereavement and created the Exit Polls theatrical TV spot. On set, Tiedeman worked in several aspects of the production including Grip & Electric Swing, Set Dresser: Second Unit, & Animal Handler: Second Unit.

In her role as Allison Miller, Bereavement marked the first starring role for world-renowned actress Alexandra Daddario. The cast also includes Michael Biehn, Peyton List, Brett Rickaby, and John Savage.

Sean worked on set as a Sound Recordist, Location Scout, Grip & Electric Swing, and Associate Producer. Tiedeman filmed and edited several featurettes included on the Blu-ray/DVD including a 'Making of' segment and Composing Killer, a documentary short.

Sean Tiedeman edited this proof-of-concept reality-style TV show alongside legendary director George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead, Creepshow). "A pro-wrestling TV pilot featuring blue collar brawlers, babes and bimbos, and twisted story lines."

In 2021 this project was rediscovered and officially released by Cryptic Pictures and the George A. Romero Foundation on DVD and VHS. Sean authored the DVD and edited George Came To My House, a featurette which is included on the disc.

On July 3rd, 2021 Sean was included on a cast and crew panel discussing the project at The Living Dead Weekend (Monroeville Mall, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania).

Iron City Asskickers

Iron City Asskickers stars J.B. Destiny, Big Poppa Gator, Lori Cardille (Day of the Dead), Kyra Schon (Night of the Living Dead) and George A. Romero himself. Romero and crew traveled from Pittsburgh to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to work with editors Sean Tiedeman and Scott Krycia.
